Claire Healy and Sean Cordeiro

Claire and Sean have been collaborating since 2001 with a multimedia practice including site-specific interventions, photography, sculpture, video and sound. The duo's artworks often allude to the impending consequences of our current actions. They are known for building grand site specific installations with an inherent playfulness. The duo frequently repurpose objects, often recycled or deconstructed, including wrecked airplanes, helicopters, cars and lego, and transform them into conceptually relevant works. Marrying object with concept is at the heart of their practice.

In 2022 Claire and Sean were winners of the Sulman Prize. They were also exhibitors at the 53rd Venice Biennale on behalf of Australia and were part of a major survey exhibition in 2021 at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre. Their work has been included in numerous exhibitions in Belgium, China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey, Taiwan, the UK and the USA. Career Highlights include solo exhibitions at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin; The Art Gallery of New South Wales; La bf15, Lyon; The Corcoran Gallery, Washington DC and a survey exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney. They have also participated in the Auckland Triennale, the Adelaide Biennial, Setouchi Triennale and the Oku-Noto Triennale, Japan. The City of Sydney commissioned their public work 'Cloud Nation' which is located in the Green Square Library Tower.
